Is Chiropractic Treatment Safe?

Chiropractic treatment is very safe. Chiropractic adjustments have been thoroughly researched in the past few years and they have been found to be safer than taking an over the counter NSAID medication (ibuprofen, aspirin, etc.). And the patients in this study has MRI diagnosed disc herniations in their low back!

NSAID medication are the most commonly used medications in the world, and adverse events occur in 25% of patients, with significant complications occurring in 1% to 4% per year!

And no, adjustments do not cause strokes. The research on this topic is conclusive and it shows that the patients who have strokes after they were adjusted by a Chiropractor were already having a stroke before they presented to the Chiropractors office! The stroke symptoms of head and neck pain caused them to seek treatment at a Chiropractors office and the full symptoms of a stroke did not fully present until after the adjustment was performed. The research also shows that a person is just as likely to have a stroke in any other medical office as a Chiropractors office. The notion that Chiropractors cause strokes with adjustments is not true and it has been spread around by certain individuals and groups to hurt Chiropractors for reasons I won’t go into in this article.
